Stay Away from foreclosure prevention companies and recovery scams If any person or company says they can stop your foreclosure immediately if you sign a document naming them to act on your behalf, you might be signing over the title to your property.

That would make you a renter in your own home!  Never sign a legal document without reading and understanding all the terms and getting professional advice from an attorney or a trusted real estate professional.

As a rule of thumb do not pay anyone to help get you out of this besides a lawyer. Money you would spend with a foreclosure prevention company could be better spent on paying your mortgage. Beware of the scam artist who prey on people that fall on hard times.

Be extra careful with who you talk to, associate with or agree to have help you. There is nothing that can not be handled by you, your lawyer and your lender.
